Rodarte for Target is finally approaching us and NY MAG has kindly graced us with images and prices from the lookbook!
I have to say I am pleasantly surprised with a majority of the line. I am especially fond of the delicate lace pieces versus the animal print dress and bow belt. The two hosiery pieces are on point for this seasons short printed dresses – lace tights for $12.99 and cut-out knee-highs for $9.99. And who could deny the Mulleavy’s signature tulle overlapping the skirts and dresses?! I know what I want for Christmas.

The above outfits felt like last minute quickies that were thrown in to appease Avril Lavigne’s four remaining fans. Dorothy’s baby blue swiss dot dress? Sarah Jessica Parker’s leftover Sex in the City Jean Jacket with tulle scarf? Hot Topic sale rack sequin ribcage dress? Mustard anything? Mulleavy’s make me sad. Luckily the good overshadows the bad, so these few pieces can be forgiven.
Can’t wait until the December 20th in-store and online release date? There will be a Target Pop Up Shop featuring five pieces from the Rodarte line on December 11th. Find out more at NY MAG.

No great, not terrible. I think the line is a bit overpriced for what it is. The cuts seem a bit strange, and the fit weird.
The new mens line seems like it’s trying too hard to fit into today’s “hot categories” of mens dressing. It’s like they pulled out the Urban Outfitters catalog and said “who’s our main market and how can we get them?” The grungy SoCal surfer look + Mark Ronson’s leftovers = sales rack at Saks.
It’s all just too much, which ends up coming off as a bit boring, and a bit played. Sorry MK&A. Better luck with your $800 The Row sweatshirts.
